Rhen Bass Honored

Elder Watson Diggs Awardee and Los Angeles Alumni Board member, Rhen Bass was honored on February 28, 2013 as part of the first annual African-American Achievement Luncheon at California State University, Channel Islands.  Sited for his stellar career in business and his continuous work with undergrads and the youth in general, brother Bass was one of twelve honorees who exemplified what dedication and hard work can achieve. Kappa brother Bishop Broderick A. Huggins Sr, pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church in Oxnard, started off the program with a resounding keynote address that elicited several standing ovations and had the audience feeling like they were in church. A highlight of the proceedings was when the audience was treated to watching via recording, Oscar-winning actor and honoree, Louis Gossett Jr,  win his coveted award back in Nineteen Eighty Two. Mr. Gossett was articulate and funny during his speech and gave credit to his great grandmother for his success. Other brothers in attendance were Life member and Founder’s Day committee member Delmont Neal, Claudius Washington, Troy Donaldson, and Marc Alexander.
